Joint & Mobility Checklist for Dog Owners

Assess your pet’s joint health and mobility needs:

Daily Observation

  • Does your dog hesitate before jumping on the couch or bed?

  • Is there stiffness after waking up or long naps?

  • Do you notice limping or favoring one leg?

  • Has your dog slowed down during walks or playtime?

 

Activity & Play

  • Does your dog avoid stairs or struggle with them?

  • Has playtime duration or enthusiasm decreased?

  • Does your dog tire more quickly than before?

  • Are favorite activities (fetch, running, hiking) less frequent?

 

Comfort & Rest

  • Does your dog change positions often while lying down?

  • Is there difficulty rising from a sitting or lying position?

  • Do you notice restlessness or discomfort at night?

 

Health & Age Factors

  • Is your dog a senior (7+ years for most breeds)?

  • Has your vet mentioned early signs of arthritis or joint wear?

  • Is your dog a large breed or overweight (higher joint stress)?

  • Any history of joint injury or surgery?

 

Scoring Guide

  • 0–3 checks: Normal mobility, continue monitoring and consider starting a preventative supplement.

  • 4–7 checks: Early signs of joint stress—consider preventive supplements and vet consultation.

  • 8+ checks: Significant mobility concerns—supplements plus veterinary guidance recommended.
